Sunday 17th September 10am - 4pm
“Tins of vintage buttons, reels of bright thread, stacks of fabric. Snipping, pinning and stitching”
Dear Emma workshops at Needle & Thread are always so popular and such fun! Under Cathy's guidance you will learn all about applique and free motion embroidery and create your own unique appliqued piece! Have a look at our Facebook page to see the sort of creations that were made on our last workshop, some ladies had never tried free motion embroidery or applique before!
Cathy Emmott of Dear Emma Designs designs & creates exquisite applique and freehand embroidery designs with vintage fabrics. Inspired by nature, Cathy brings her designs to life using fine linens (she says she can sniff out a perfect piece of linen from a mile away!), cottons and uses freehand embroidery and appliqué to add detail and dimensions to her work.
You are sure to have seen Cathy’s work in many magazines and we are super excited that she is coming to Needle & Thread to teach us all how to appliqué and free machine with confidence!
Cathy will be bringing a suitcase of treasures for you to delve into to create your own beautiful pieces. This will be a wonderful day of creativity and sewing, and Cathy will be sharing all her experience and know how for beautiful appliqué and stitching! Come and learn these techniques and then create your own beautiful piece to take home.
